I’m a journalist who’s passionate about innovation. It motivates me to do new things on the web. That’s why I love working with the small but nimble multimedia team at the Globe. Together we use new and exciting web technologies to tell interesting stories online.
These days, I spend most of my time on data journalism. I scrape, crunch, and wrangle data into interesting visualizations so readers can understand the bigger picture. I’ve been lucky enough to be nominated for three data journalism awards. The Globe also nominated me as best editorial innovator for 2012.
I’m mostly self-taught, so I also do a good deal of video editing and motion infographic videos. I know half a dozen programming languages and run a freelance web design firm called Wellington Interactive.
Overall I love working with passionate people who care about making the world a better place. I’m also an amateur Rubix cube solver.
